Background:
Party investigates the widespread abductions of spellcasters. This
leads them to a vast underground complex, through which the spellcasters
are transported.

9: |
At
the Great Sanctuary, the Party meets again with Hanna, cleric
to Celandine in Malmesbury; find out about the growing number of abductions
of spell casters throughout eastern Mesopontia (at least 55 in the
past 6 months). Aelyina
(M4/T0) rejoins (secretly having picked up some Thief skills).
Aelyina breaks her link with her familiar, and leaves the dog at the
Sanctuary. |

Sail
for Pentapolis. |
| May
17: |
Arrive
in Pentapolis. Spend time finding details and clues concerning some
of the local abductions; Taro, Darkmoon, and BigPig ("The Good,
The Bad, and the Ugly") spend time in seedy bars. |

Arrive
in Melborne. |
| May
26-27: |
Arrive
at the old Keep. Battle some local thugs who have something to do
with the abductions. Arlephone discovers the wonders of dropping anvils
on opponents. |
| June
1: |
Having
cleaned out the keep, the Party finds a tunnel complex underneath.
Some giant beetles wander by; they ignore the Party, but Darkmoon
and BigPig feel they have to be annihilated: Darkmoon does 2 critical
hits in one round. |

2: |
Find
many Orcs; their way is barred by a big, magical, psionic door. Some
utterly harmless Trilobytes wander by, and are annihilated by some
party members for no good reason. |

3: |
Stymied,
they head another direction, and eventually get to a mine complex;
kill Wyvern, bandits, and Zombies. Find a Giant Eel; Osric killed,
after taking a 60 pt. bite. Osric buried. |

Battle
more bandits and Zombies. Pippin, Vainamoinen, and Aithra killed.
Loot and exit. |

4: |
Aithra
raised by Taz via scroll. Speak with Dead reveals that
Pippin does not want to be revived, but Vainamoinen does. However,
the Party then notices that Vainamoinen's hands have been removed
(found hidden nearby), which prevents a Raise Dead spell being
used. |

6: |
Party
returns to the big door. Battle many Orcs. Aithra almost killed again.
Rescue some captives (abductees that were not spellcasters, so left
with the Orcs to be slaves), one a Dwarf of considerable fighting
skill and a desire for vengeance: Snagger
(F4) joins. Find a very magical spear, dedicated to the Orcish
god Gruumsh, which almost takes control of Oðúlfr. Door
is finally opened. |

10: |
Travel beyond the door for days. Meet and talk with some Svirfneblin;
learn that beyond the big door, somewhere, are Illithids (Mind Flayers).
Oðúlfr leaves for training, escorting the rest
of the freed captives to the surface. Taz needs training, but opts
to stay with the Party. |
