Background: Having escaped from the trap set by Darkmoon's former companions, the Party comes across a long-lost lair of the legendary mage Lemminkäinen.

August 12 The Party explores the cave complex, and find no obvious exit (except perhaps underwater). Battle and negotiate with various groups of underground creature, many of which they've never seen before.
Eventually they find a secret door and climb into a constructed complex. The first occupant they meet is a huge Earth Elemental, a guardian. They are able to talk with it, and learn that they are in a complex belonging to the legendary mage Lemminkäinen. Arlephone thinks he has been dead, or at least absent from this part of the world, for about 3 centuries; the complex looks to have been unused for a similar length of time.
Exploring, they find and battle some Rust Monsters and Gargoyles; Darkmoon's elven chainmail is destroyed, and Derg is killed.
They also find an amazing set of test rooms, where Lemminkäinen experimented with things like permanent echoes, permanent darkness, and permanent silence. Also find an immense library, which they loot.
Finding no other way out, they convince the Earth Elemental to let them use a teleport room (involves disguising Darkmoon to look like a Vanyar). It has 16 image-based buttons, apparently each being a destination. They pick one that looks mundane, and find themselves outside and above the valley which led to the trapped crypt. They go back in and find Shawn, who is still paralysed; fortunately, he is actually in statis, and has not been subject to the passage of time.
September 16 The Party also now finds out that time passed faster than normal in Lemminkäinen's complex - what felt like 3 days was actually 30 days.
September 18 The Party finally revives Shawn; Shawn is rather annoyed at being abandoned for so long.
September 19 Arrive at the great Hobbit Sanctuary. Derg is given an honourable burial.

September 22 While the others train, Darkmoon, Arlephone, Taro, Niobe, and Shawn head off to Priene and make money off Lemminkäinen's fabulous research notes.
October 6 Regroup at the sanctuary, where they find Hamfast; Hamfast rejoins.
