Barrakos Monastery
(6-2-1;1), Coira 19-36 1083, March-October
2009
Background and summary: Althaire and Nausicaa can't stay
in Praetos any longer, so they recruit some muscle and head
off into the northern hills.
Starting members (from Slave
Trail B): Althaire(T-3), Nausicaa(I-2), Cyrene(WrC-2)
(from Krykos
the Warlord, and see below):
Axmost(F-2)
|
Coira 12 1083
|
Althaire and Nausicaa quietly leave the Slave Trail
B group. Cyrene catches up a few hours later, looking
for word on what became of Aisha and thinking A+N know
more than they really do.
Cyrene updates on investigations, and all head for
Madam Merta's seeking info. She knows less than they
do, but gives a name - Neverus - who might have been
involved.
|
|
C 13
|
To "The Rope", a rough seedy pub where Neverus
can sometimes be found. Bribe bartender to point him
out.
Althaire gets in conversation with Neverus, but also
gets somewhat drunk and ends up giving away Party's
motives. Neverus and some buddies take exception; conversation
at swordpoint eventually reveals them to be Bellringers,
and Althaire and Nausicaa to be somewhat unwelcome in
town due to their failure with Aisha. They do mention
they "know where Aisha is"; assuming this
means she is safe, Party stop pursuit.
Nausicaa stops by Merta's to update her. Party leaves
town by boat for Xania.
|
| C 17 |
Arrive Xania. |
| C 18 |
Recruit some people: Axmost(F-2,
last seen in Krykos
the Warlord) and Jocastefellerinus(Cvr-2) join. |
| C 19 |
Leave Xania, boat across strait. |
| C 20 |
Start walking into Barrakos Hills. |
| C 23 |
During night, 4 Gnolls attack Party's camp: Jocastefellerinus
killed and Cyrene almost.
Cyrene tries to cast a cure while hurt, fails, glows
red for a while...and gives Nausicaa a hidden Wish!
|
| C 24 |
Start finding isolated ruins; explore.
A ruined castle still has a basement; Party disturbs
(and then slays) a minor Air Elemental and some strange
undead, but are forced to retreat.
|
| C 25 |
Across a valley to another ruin. This one has living
occupants: Party slay 2 Gnolls and are then chased off
by many more, straight into other hazards including
nasty animated plants. Althaire almost kills herself
falling off cliff.
Realize a few buildings here are not so ruined as they
seem. Retreat to previous ruin and rest.
That evening, someone tracks Party to their camp; she
seems decent enough and also wants to kill Gnolls, so
Party take her in: Scala(R-2) joins.
|
| C 26 |
During night, see a few flashes of light from Gnoll
holdings.
Intending to rest for day, Party see a band of Gnolls
lay ambush for a small passing caravan. Althaire and
Nausicaa sneak around Gnolls to warn caravan, rest of
Party close in from front; but caravan has its own defenses
and most of the hidden Gnolls soon start yowling in
agony after a few spells from caravan. Party helps with
the mop-up.
Spellcaster thanks Party and caravan moves on.
A caravan worker arrives at Party's camp later with
a warning: spellcaster will return and attack. Party
moves camp.
|
| C 27 |
Flashes of light overnight again, this time from Party's
old campsite. Investigating in morning reveals a mess.
Invade Gnoll holding, painfully take one small building
from several powerful Gnolls, then barricade it and
rest for a few days.
|
| C 30 |
Into larger building. Inside are lots of odd-angled
rooms, mostly empty.
Party disturb a resident magic-user who twice puts
them all to sleep except Althaire (who made her resistance
roll by 3% and then 2%, with failure on either meaning
end of Party); she easily kills him off.
One last batch of Gnolls appears, Althaire tries out
a new sword - it's cursed, and she doesn't stop fighting.
Party have to club her senseless. Once sword is removed
from her she returns to normal.
|
| C 31 |
Find an elevator to a lower level. Exploring soon turns
up a large wall-sized picture of a man; the picture
speaks:
o picture is obviously
of a Monk, now completely at peace with the universe;
o rest of area
is a final resting place for those who failed to achieve
such placidtude;
o Party are advised
that disturbing anything here would be most unwise;
o offerings may
be left and will be rewarded;
o picture also
passes on a message: "The furies are casting
in their forge. Do not let them finish."
Althaire leaves the cursed sword as an offering; all
Party's injuries are immediately cured. Axmost and Nausicaa
leave some gold, and Scala leaves some magic herbs.
Party leave.
|
| C 32 |
Althaire wakes up having gained a level (!) overnight.
Axmost and Nausicaa gain lesser experience rewards,
in direct ratio to the amount of gold they offered yesterday;
while Scala also gains experience.
Nausicaa wishes she had left more as offering; this
works (see entry for Coira 23, above), and she
too gains a level!
Meanwhile, Axmost and Cyrene have both bumped conventionally,
so all to town.
|
| C 36 |
Arrive Xania, start a treasury and training
break. |
| Surviving members: |
Althaire(T-4), Nausicaa(I-3), Cyrene(WrC-3),
Axmost(F-3), Scala(R-2) |

Jocastefellerinus |

And where has Axmost been?
After leaving the Krykos the Warlord Party, Axmost
spent a few months meandering her way slowly north towards
Xania, finding occasional scraps and minor adventures along
the way either alone or with very temporary companions. She
was, however, unable to find a Party she could stick with;
and ended up in Xania on her own with nothing to do except
drink her way around the city's pubs and taverns. She had
just about given up on the city entirely when Althaire and
Nausicaa came recruiting...

Forge of the Furies
(9-4-3;3), Auril 25-Flaige 5 1083, October
2009-January 2010
Background and summary: Assorted clues and hints lead
the Party to a long-abandoned Dwarven forge in the northern
Sphondalai, where the Furies are rumoured to be casting something
that must not be completed. The Party disrupt the Furies at
almost the last possible moment.
Starting members (from Barrakos Monastery):
Althaire(T-4), Nausicaa(I-3), Cyrene(WrC-3), Axmost(F-3),
Scala(R-2)
| Auril 7 1083 |
Training done, Party leaves Xania on an
extended shopping and spell-acquisition trip. |
| A 12 |
Arrive Sharphi. Along the way, Nausicaa
and Cyrene develop a passionate romance. |
| A 15 |
By now, Nausicaa has learned she is blacklisted
here for some reason and cannot get spells. Party leaves
town. |
| A 21 |
Arrive Kapos. |
| A 23 |
Party found an indecipherable (by them)
piece of paper in their last adventure; Scala finally
does something with it now, and takes it to a sage. It
translates to a longer and more cryptic version of the
wall's message (see entry for Coira 31, above),
and sage guesses it is referring to an old Dwarven complex
several days to the south. |
| A 25 |
On their way out of town, Party find a badly-beaten
and very hungover person crawling out of an alley. They
patch her up and take her in, thus Tamwyc(NrC-2) joins. |
| A 29 |
Arrive at general area where complex is supposed to
be. A couple of Grashi guard the road but flee behind
a huge door as soon as Party do anything aggressive.
Party cannot breach door, so retreat.
Smoke is rising from hill, Party seek and find its
source: a long narrow crack in the rock obviously being
used as a chimney. Scala goes to scout, rest of Party
attacked by several Grashi who also quickly flee back
into door.
Scala finds a cave; this turns out to be a back entrance.
Party wade in and manage to take out an enormous bear
and a couple of Troglodytes before retreating to outdoors.
|
| A 30 |
Back in, continue exploring except interrupted a few
times by Stirges.
Find a stream flowing into a small passage, Althaire
wants to explore but can't fit, so wishes Axmost was
a Hobbit; and it works: Axmost becomes Hobbit.
Her gear does not change size, however, so she suddenly
has no armour. She vows to someday kill Althaire. (in
Enter
Magraine, Althaire briefly had possession of a Luckblade;
when she gave the sword away its wish stuck to her.
Here she gets her wish, still without any idea where
it came from.)
Party decide to retreat all the way to town.
|
| A 34 |
Arrive Kapos. Axmost retires immediately. |
| A 35 |
Recruit for a Fighter, get two responses;
one is female and thus makes the grade: Hyperia(F-2)
joins. |
| A 36 |
Leave Kapos. |
| A 40 |
Party's camp attacked by 4 Shadows during
night, lots of people lose lots of strength. Rest through
day to recover. |
| Eolna
1 |
During night, someone sneaks
into camp and steals various mundane gear. Spend day tracking,
eventually realize thieves probably came from same complex
Party is heading for anyway. Stand off and watch. |
| E 2 |
Althaire and Scala sneak forward to watch
entrance and get jumped by a giant spider. Scala does
well to lure it away before it eats Althaire. |
| E 3 |
Give up watching, instead start picking
off Grash hunting parties
and the spider, which shows
up again. |
| E 4 |
Approach entrance again, run into and kill another
hunting party en route.
Plug chimney, spend day waiting for response.
A Grash comes out of main door in evening, Party gain
door. Behind it is a rope bridge over a very deep chasm;
Scala and Hyperia charge 2 Grashi holding far end and
gain a bridgehead, but Scala then tries to push one
into chasm, blows it badly, and goes over the side herself:
Scala killed (at -65) when she hits bottom a
moment later. Grashi soon slain.
Explore, find and rescue Geradil and Courana, a couple
of prisoners.
|
| E 5 |
Overnight rest disturbed by a band of Grash, then a
Turvitian: Party battered.
More exploring, find a way out; so rescuees sent home
and Party rests for a few days.
|
| E 7 |
More exploring, a few stray occupants are easily dispatched.
Open a door, behind it is a Grash shaman and a couple
of friends; Althaire the only Party member to remain
awake after shaman casts Sleep, so she takes
on shaman (thus saves Party once), then Grash and Party
wake up. Shaman flees, other Grash slain, then Party
starts (and loses) a game of cat-and-mouse with shaman
who ends up putting all of Party to sleep again - except
Althaire (at 0 h.p.) who battles shaman (at -4 h.p.),
winner take all. Althaire wins, and thus saves Party
again.
|
| E 8 |
Party find a fire trap the hard way, everybody
down to 5 h.p. or less even after curing. Rest for a few
days. |
| E 10 |
Explore, find lots of caves.
Learn about the Grick, a previously unknown monster,
by defeating 2 of them.
|
| E 11 |
Fish out a couple of mold-covered skeletons from caves
full of fungi; Party never realize just how dangerous
the mold is while looting skeletons for their treasure.
Find some Troglodytes, easy win; but then give remaining
Trogs lots of warning (thus time to set up ambush) before
walking into it; outnumbered well over two to one, Party
is lucky to survive. Tamwyc twice kills two foes with
one swing during this battle.
Retreat and rest for a few days.
|
| E 13 |
More exploring.
Tied up behind a door is a Telaure; Party untie her
and take her in, so Amrithwyn T'eleraysh Il 'Derapshi(T-2)
joins.
A bit further on is a Roper. Party quickly conclude
they can't win a fight with it, but it's hungry, so
they agree to bring it the baby Troglodytes left upstairs.
It happily chows down on these while Party keep going.
Althaire and Amrithwyn wade around in some dirty water,
then all retreat and sack out.
|
| E 14 |
Various people bump overnight, Amrithwyn
needs gear, and she and Althaire have become ill due to
the water; so Party decide to head back to town. |
| E 18 |
Arrive Kapos, start a training break (Naus.
to I-4, Tam. to NrC-3, Hyp. to F-3). |
| E 30 |
Amrithwyn hires a hench - lots of muscles
and good eye candy is what she wants, and that's what
she gets: Raoul the Houseboy(--) joins. |
| E 35 |
Leave Kapos. |
| E 39 |
Arrive back at complex and wade in.
Four Troglodytes greet Party, Hyperia fails save vs.
stench 4 times in a row!
|
| E 40 |
Explore until met by several Duergar, Party pay for
some useful information.
During this, Amrithwyn tells Raoul to guard the door,
but he's terrified and so instead flees entirely - with
much of Amrithwyn's gear. Raoul retires.
Walk into a forge, the Furies are busy working there
and don't initially see Party, so several characters
pull out weapons and charge! Guilty-looking Furies vanish,
but not before almost killing both Tamwyc and Cyrene.
Party then go back and kill off Duergar boss: a hammer
thrown by Alecto and now wielded by Hyperia turns him
to dust. The rest flee.
A door leads to a ghostly creature that drains Tamwyc
and Hyperia of some Wisdom (they recover later).
Keep exploring until meet a much bigger Duergar: Althaire
killed in one blow, and Party have to work hard
to win.
|
| Flaige 1 |
Find a kitchen; a large table animates and attacks,
it is soon reduced to splinters.
Hyperia spends quite some time going toe-to-toe with
a Wight but manages to keep her levels.
A large rug animates: Amrithwyn killed when
it smothers her, and Hyperia fortunate not to meet the
same fate.
With no Thieves left and the Furies driven off, Party
decide to retreat all the way to town.
|
| F 5 |
Arrive Kapos.
Raoul has already made it back to town; he sees Party
carry in corpse of his ex-boss.
Inquiries about hammer thrown by Alecto get Party thrown
out of various places in town until Aphrodite temple
takes them in: they soon find hammer belongs to Hephaestus;
it's one of His forging hammers, the Furies stole it
and He wants it back.
|
| F 8 |
Days of divine negotiations end when Aphrodite Herself
stops by and takes hammer; a box of fine weapons (made
by Hephaestus!) soon appears in its place, and Althaire
and Amrithwyn raised as well.
With this, Party start a treasury and training (Alth.
to T-5, Cyr. to WrC-4, Amy to T-3) break.
During this, Amrithwyn finds and confronts Raoul about
her missing gear; he thinks he's met a ghost, and flees
into the hills.

Caerwyllyn Henge
(9-3-1;5), Hriva 36-Tuila 21 1084, January-March
2010
Background and summary: Tamwyc receives a broken message
during morning prayers; she and her Party head north in response.
Once there, they have trouble making up their mind what to
do: they find the Henge and check it over but accomplish little,
then go off and harry a village of Turvitians for a while
- again achieving little - after which they very painfully
dip their toe into a stronghold of Giants before retreating
to town.
Starting members (from Forge of the Furies):
Althaire(T-5), Nausicaa(I-4), Cyrene(WrC-4), Hyperia(F-3),
Tamwyc(NrC-3), Amrithwyn(T-3)
| Flaige 10
1083 |
No training available in Kapos, all leave. |
| F 17 |
During her morning prayers, Tamwyc receives a garbled
message: ".
help
.henge
."
is all she can make out.
Arrive Xania, start training.
|
| F 18 |
Tamwyc gets the same message again, this
would repeat while Party in Xania. She thinks it has something
to do with her homeland, far to the north. |
| F 35 |
Training done, Party leave Xania and boat
across to Barrakos Hills. |
| F 39 |
Pass within a day or so of Hyperia's home
town of Stila, so Party take a detour. |
| Hriva 1 1084 |
New Year's in Stila with Hyperia's family. |
| H 2 |
Leave Stila, head north.
Tamwyc's message slowly gains more words (but makes
no more sense) as Party progress north.
|
| H 5 |
Ambushed by a group of very odd-looking
gray-skinned creatures. Amrithwyn ends up fighting in
melee with her fists after a fumble broke the only weapon
she had! Creatures flee after their obvious leader slain. |
| H 26 |
Arrive at Anaish after days of getting soaked
by rain. |
| H 30 |
Arrive at just-as-soggy Qar'nora, spend
a few days here drying out and shopping. |
| H 33 |
Leave Qar'nora. |
| H 36 |
Arrive Qar'tura. Dagda has a temple here; Tamwyc and
Party check in hoping for help in deciphering message.
Before long, Party escorted to a room and left there;
and instead immediately find themselves outdoors in
a cold wet windy forest.
Find a relatively sheltered campsite and sack out.
Not everyone has winter gear, Tamwyc's spells help here.
A small band of skeletons disturb Party after dark
and are easily dealt with.
|
| H 37 |
Rain turns to snow overnight, ends by daybreak but
it then gets much colder; everyone shivering.
Tamwyc's prayers get clear reception for the first
time this month, but message is gone.
Nausicaa scouts from air, sees a henge on a nearby
hill and a village beyond.
Party head for henge, trip interrupted by a living
plant that drags Cyrene underground and tangles Hyperia
and Tamwyc as well. Plant slain, then Nausicaa barely
gets Cyrene out in time to prevent her suffocating;
but the plant has severely weakened her (Con. down to
4) and she cannot stop coughing up dirt.
Althaire explores around henge, then Party make camp
in hopes Cyrene will recover with time.
As soon as night falls, Party find themselves surrounded
by dozens if not hundreds of undead. Tamwyc's glowing
hammer keeps most of them at bay while Party break camp
and carefully move away from henge; Hyperia's sword
finishes off most of those that do get through.
|
| H 38 |
Back to henge; a more careful exploration finds holes
in three standing stones (to north, east, and west)
and lots of magic in corresponding place to south.
Cyrene is feeling no better, so decide to head for
village.
Reach village of Caerwyllyn, talk with a local and
find out (among other things) where they are.
To nearby village of Llyndisfare, and to pub. Hyperia
gains a fangirl and has fun. Althaire finds a handsome
farmhand and has fun, then leaves all his right boots
on his roof.
|
| H 39 |
Snow, then rain and mud grind travel to
a near-halt. |
| H 40 |
Arrive at small city of Tewys, make some inquiries
with Dagda types about how to fix Cyrene; they make
her feel better (she had in fact become seriously ill)
but fixing her Con. will cost more than she can afford.
Also learn there are three stones missing from Henge
(thus the holes); adventurers had been working on recovery
and had found two but were attacked not far from town,
and the recovered stones were again lost.
|
| Tuila 1 |
Cyrene retires as she is in no fit
shape to continue adventuring. Nausicaa is not happy.
She goes shopping. |
| T 2 |
Decide to do some recruiting and get buried in people.
Meaghan ap Tyrwll(NtC-3) and Angrenon(Mk-3) join,
while the half-dozen or so rejects are made into a Party
of their own and turned loose.
Amrithwyn finds a willing partner and has fun.
|
| T 3 |
Angrenon reveals that of the attacked Party
he is the sole survivor, and Turvitians now have the stones.
Party leave town to find the Turvitians. |
| T 4 |
Arrive at scene of attack, meet a local
Ranger named Ariea who has been guarding road; she shows
Party which way attackers went but does not join pursuit.
Party push off into hills after spending night with Ariea. |
| T 6 |
The hills fight back: 4 rolling stones attack and soon
become a serious problem. New recruits acquit themselves
well - Meaghan spends entire battle running up and down
hill curing the Party's numerous fallen. Nausicaa almost
killed; Althaire and Amrithwyn not in much better shape.
4 Turvitians had been watching this battle from a
nearby hill; Althaire now sees them and gives a danger
signal, but they think it's an invitation to fight so
they charge. Party slay with relative ease, then retreat
and camp.
|
| T 7 |
During night, Tamwyc is visited by a faintly-glowing
wolf during her watch; she correctly interprets this
as a sign from Dagda. Wolf leaves, then Tamwyc spends
a moment tending deeply-incurable Nausicaa and Amrithwyn.
Both are fully recovered by morning.
Rest through day.
|
| T 8 |
Reach a village of Turvitians ("Turvillage")
and spend day observing from a nearby hill. |
| T 9 |
Turvitians are sending out hunting parties, Party decide
to start picking these off one by one but are interrupted
by several wolves en route to ambush point.
Ambush a hunting party, this goes perfectly from Party's
point of view: 6 Turvitians slain without taking a scratch.
Hide bodies in a nearby pit, then sack out.
|
| T 10 |
Spend day at ambush point, nothing shows
up. |
| T 11 |
A search party arrives at ambush point
and Party attacks, but this does not go nearly so
well. At one point Hyperia spectacularly fumbles with
her new Hephaestus-made sword, nearly killing Tamwyc.
The sword would have also broken, but it disappears
instead; and within seconds Hyperia realizes she is
badly cursed when a voice speaks in her head:
"You are unworthy. No weapon
will aid you, nor ally befriend you."
Battle comes to order. All now find Hyperia repulsive,
and she is run out of the Party. She wanders off,
tries a few experimental swings with her weapons only
to learn she threatens a fumble every time, and leaves
her weapons in pit with Turvitian bodies. She then
follows Party at a distance.
Party return to campsite and sack out.
|
| T 12 |
Decide to check Turvillage again, so circle around
to west and Nausicaa makes everyone invisible (thus
Hyperia, still following, loses all track of where they
are). During this, Amrithwyn checks out Turvitian bodies
and finds Hyperia's weapons, she scoops them up and
keeps them.
During day, Hyperia's curse seems to lessen or go away
entirely; she goes to recover her weapons but they are
gone. She thinks this is an after-effect of her curse,
and keeps going.
|
| T 13 |
Party (and Hyperia, elsewhere) still watching Turvillage
when three Giants show up. Snap decision is to try and
see what they are up to, so Nausicaa creates some diversionary
illusions while Althaire and Amrithwyn sneak into village.
Althaire manages to get right inside village's main
hall, but this has all taken long enough that the Giant
leader (a Frost Giant) is about to leave. He does, and
heads east; and unknown to anyone else Amrithwyn follows.
During all this, a Turvitian sentry has discovered
Hyperia. She flees (she still has no weapons) and is
rescued by Party; she is nowhere near as repulsive as
a few days ago, so they take her back in.
With no sign of Amrithwyn, Party decide to abandon
her and follow Giants east.
|
| T 14 |
Giants travel at forced march through night.
Party follow through night then decide in morning to
sack out for day.
Amrithwyn follows through night and does not stop,
eventually goes up a long scree-filled valley and finds
a cave at the foot of a glacier. Just inside cave is
a guardian Giant, but Amrithwyn tries to sneak in anyway;
Giant is not fooled. Amrithwyn killed in one
blow.
|
| T 15 |
Party press on, get to foot of scree valley and again
stop for day to watch.
At one point a band of a dozen or so Turvitians come
down valley, turn north, and leave.
|
| T 16 |
While approaching valley, Party runs into someone else
out here doing much the same thing: Cadence(R-3)
joins.
Follow path up valley, reach cave entrance. A messy
battle with guarding Giant, his buddy (another Giant),
and a hungry Yeti that happened to wander by sees Party
defeat all.
Enter cave, make good some exploring.
Suspicious, Tamwyc moves ahead to cast Detect Life;
Angrenon follows as a guard. Giants hear her casting
and spring their ambush: Tamwyc and Angrenon completely
cut off from Party (who can do nothing to help, Giants
have blocked the passage) and have to deal with at least
4 Giants. Inevitably, Tamwyc and Angrenon killed.
For some reason, Tamwyc's corpse appears in Party.
Party pick it up and leave.
|
| T 17 |
Run into a band of Turvitians near their
village: Meaghan and Cadence killed and Nausicaa
almost. |
| T 21 |

entire Party - arrive at Tewys; start a treasury and training

2010
Background and summary: The Party return to the Turvitians'

it runs away, leaving the twice-rebuilt Party to wander around
the wilderness for a month before finally just giving up.

| T 35 |
Training done, Party leave town. By now,
already forgetting the recently-departed Cyrene, Nausicaa
has developed a romance with Rainbow. |
| T 38 |
During night, Party's camp overrun by giant
beetles which don't last long. |
| T 39 |
Reach village, notice there are fewer Turvitians. Decide
to head for ambush point used on previous visit, but
instead get jumped in forest by a small hunting party;
no great problem.
Back to watchpoint above village, stay put for night.
|
| T 40 |
During night, Althaire and Nausicaa sneak up on a Grashi
sentry and kill him, then notice he was already manacled.
Unsure what to make of this, they return to Party.
Around daybreak, a small group of Turvitians come to
check on sentries; Party ambush and (messily) kill these.
Utnoat tries to sacrifice bodies after but this goes
badly; a holy symbol taken off a Turvitian shaman starts
burning its way through her backpack, so she drops it
and pours water on it to cool it down. The resulting
smoke and steam attract attention from the up-till-now-amazingly-unobservant
village.
Lots of Turvitians come charging up the hill. Party
handle the first wave without much problem, but one
Turvitian gets away and runs back to village. Caleb
killed.
Party notice a second wave coming but dig in instead
of fleeing, and it almost wipes them out: Kynhemys,
Utnoat, Tamwyc and Hyperia all killed; the last
two in suicidal protection of fleeing Althaire, Nausicaa
and Rainbow. Gruumsh even tries to help Utnoat out at
the end, she becomes gigantic and super strong but dies
anyway.
|
| Laire 2 |
Althaire, Nausicaa and Rainbow arrive at
Tewys and set about recruiting yet another Party. Over
the next few days they end up taking in all the people
they rejected on Tuila 2, as that proto-Party had got
nowhere in the meantime. Dafydd (Dial) ap Ioan(R-3),
Thornapple(A-3), Emoba(NrC-3), Donogb(F-3) and Cedric
Fairfield(WrC-3) all join. Thornapple comes in as
an "Archer". |
| L 4 |
Leave town. |
| L 6 |
Meet a strange fellow in hills; he claims hills are
his living room and seems to know a bit about Party,
but he seems harmless so Party leave him alone and keep
going.
Late in evening, Party hear distant screams; investigating
finds someone being chased by a wolf and two Turvitians.
Party take out pursuers and take in what turns out to
be an escaped Turvitian meal: Merisa(MU-3) joins.
She has no gear, no spells, and no book to learn from;
so for now she functions pretty much as a commoner.
|
| L 7 |
Reach Turvillage, drop some rocks on some huts, Nausicaa
gets shot and almost killed by an arbalest, Party leave.
Head north into forest, find a hiding place, and rest
for days.
|
| L 9 |
Rainbow goes herb-hunting and almost gets
killed by a spider; Althaire bails her out. |
| L 10 |
Back to Turvillage, cautious exploration
finds it completely deserted. Vague tracks lead east,
Party follow for a while then decide to turn north instead
and deal with Grashi who captured Merisa, in hopes of
recovering her spellbook. |
| L 11 |
An enormous snake wanders into Party's camp
during night, nobody notices until squashing sounds come
from Donogb's tent - Donogb is getting crushed. Rainbow
manages to freeze snake, Party chop it to bits, Donogb
barely survives. Party stay put for day to recover. |
| L 12 |
Party approach Grash camp but stand off
and lay ambush on a trail - manage to kill one Grash late
that night. |
| L 13 |
An odd individual passes by in early morning, she looks
Human from a distance but Elf when seen from close up.
Party approach, most stand down once it becomes clear
she's harmless (or so they think) but Rainbow keeps
at it and soon realizes she's talking to some sort of
Forest Spirit (or deity???); this goes well enough that
Rainbow ends up with a rainbow over her head and a feeling
of having been blessed.
During conversation, Forest Spirit reveals the moon
Fieros does not belong where it is.
Spirit leaves, Party resume their ambush.
4 Grash appear, Rainbow - still sporting a bright rainbow
above her - steps out into path; Grash see her and flee.
Emboldened by this, Party head for Grash camp; Grash
see Rainbow and treat her like a god, so she proceeds
to talk them out of a huge amount of loot in place of
Merisa's spellbook, which they have burnt. Party then
retreat to forest.
After dark, Stabos rises; Rainbow's rainbow shoots
up into the sky toward it (hence, a rainbow moonbeam)
and soon disappears.
|
| L 14 |
Return to Turvillage, head east. |
| L 15 |
Walk into Turvitian ambush, all 5 ambushers
end up blind via Party's spells before dying. Party stay
put for a few days to recover. |
| L 17 |
A Hill Giant blunders into Party's camp
early in day, hurts a few people, doesn't last long. |
| L 18 |
Reach mouth of glacial valley again, see
Turvitians have set up camp here. Party decide to stand
off and ambush stragglers, and manage to pick off a few. |
| L 19 |
A Frost Giant strolls down valley to Turvitian camp.
Half a mile away, Dial steps out of woods and makes
himself obvious (hoping to get Giant to charge); Giant
instead heads back up valley.
Half an hour later Giant comes back with several friends,
they all head toward Party; Party leave quickly and
head all the way back to Turvillage. Sack out in main
hall here.
|
| L 20 |
Someone sneaks into hall in early a.m. then announces
his presence, after a bit of discussion Real(R-3)
joins.
Some Dial-Rainbow banter suddenly turns nasty: Dial
slugs her in the face. An argument follows (and Real
starts to wonder what he's got himself into); and before
long Rainbow leaves Party. (see below
for what she gets up to next)
Party decide to head north and try the Grash camp again,
so off they go arriving late in day.
Thornapple and Althaire independently sneak into village
and look around while rest of Party try to taunt Grashi
into charging - eventually one does, then two, then
lots in a series of disorganized waves that end up giving
Party loads of trouble.
Grash chiefs leave village to join battle, Althaire
and Thornapple (still unaware of each other's presence)
both follow until Thornapple sees his chance and assassinates
the head chief outright. Amazingly, the only people
who notice this are Althaire and one ordinary Grash;
Thornapple takes out the Grash and is then scooped up
by Althaire.
Meanwhile, a massive battle is raging upslope. Emoba
killed and several others almost; the late arrival
of Althaire and Thornapple turns the tide but Thornapple
almost dies too.
Cedric burns all the charges out of a Staff of Healing
to get people functional; the Staff crumbles to dust.
Party retreat into forest as remaining Grash flee their
camp.
|
| L 21 |
Party stay put for day except Nausicaa and
Dial check out Grash camp only to find a couple of other
people doing the same thing; after Nausicaa plays a few
tricks introductions are made: Grabil(NrC-3) and Myridos
Ley'ng(MU-3) join and are taken back to main Party. |
| L 22 |
Grabil and Myridos are survivors of another party that
lost a battle vs. a third much nastier party; this group
now decide to head a day's travel northwest and check
out battle site.
A couple of corpses left by Grabil's group are now
up as Zombies, Party easily slay.
A corpse is wearing a very fine suit of plate armour,
but anyone approaching gets progressively blinder until
cannot see at all. Undaunted by this, Dial removes the
armour by feel - until it animates and puts itself on
him (outside his current armour); he immediately starts
evilly chuckling. (he can now animate any dead around
him, among other things
)
Grabil uses Hold Person to freeze Dial. The
same Zombies arise and are slain again. (but Dial
soon gets them up once more)
Much effort put into restraining Dial, he finally ends
up tied to a long pole, and Party - in dark of night
and through unexplored territory - start a forced march
south.
A hungry wildcat jumps Real; while Party inefficiently
deal with this the same Zombies show up again
(!), this time Party remove all their limbs after slaying.
With this, Party finally decide to stop and rest.
|
| L 23 |
Travel through day, get turned west by mistake.
|
| L 24 |
During night an enormous mushroom somehow manages to
get right into Party's camp before anyone notices; it
paralyzes a few people with its clouds of spores (but
most - against the odds - resist) and squashes Nausicaa,
but doesn't last long after that. Nausicaa barely survives.
Travel for a few more days, interrupted once or twice
by local wildlife.
|
| L 26 |
Arrive Tewys, immediately start attempts
to get Dial back to normal. Eventually learn the armour
he is wearing has a rather unsavoury reputation in these
parts; later learn the same about 'Blackspawn', a mace
taken from the same corpse. |
| L 27 |
Several powerful Remove Curse spells are cast
to get Dial free, then armour and mace are sacrificed.
Start a lucrative treasury break.
|
| L 37 |
Leave town. |
| L 40 |
Arrive Turvillage again, it has been destroyed.
Party carry on toward where Turvitians (and Giants) were
last seen. |
| Yavie 1 |
A pair of Giants - Hill and Stone - ambush
Party; they inflict some severe pain but Party takes them
down. |
| Y 2 |
During night a band of Leprechauns find Party, their
intent is to play some tricks but when Donogb chops
one in half things get serious; Party barely manage
to run them off.
Althaire and Thornapple keep watch through morning
while everyone else sleeps off Leprechaun effects.
Nausicaa needs training and wants to turn around for
town, most others want to keep going; so after some
discussion Nausicaa and Althaire leave, eventually
wind up in AN-series.
|
| Y 3 |
Party reach foot of scree valley and set
up watch, then ambush a Turvitian hunting party. |
| Y 4 |
Probably attracted by nearby Turvitian corpses, a pair
of Carrion Crawlers wander into Party's camp and cause
all kinds of mayhem before dying.
A travelling Hill Giant gets no further than Party's
ambush point. Party then decide to stay put and rest
for a few days.
|
| Y 5 |
En route to Tewys, Althaire and Nausicaa
detour around a band of highwaymen setting up an ambush. |
| Y 6 |
A small group of Grashi stumble into Party's ambush
site, easy pickings for Party except one flees to get
help
Help arrives later, in form of half a dozen Turvitians
including their chief and his queen. Cedric killed
but Party otherwise prevail - Thornapple and Grabil
each go one on one with a Turvitian and, though outgunned,
survive; and once Donogb gets freed up he just wanders
around clobbering everything in his path. Myridos learns
the value of a well-placed Laughter spell when
he incapacitates the chief with it and thus saves his
own life.
Party move camp.
|
| Y 7 |
To scree valley. Turvitian camp at entrance is deserted,
so Party keep going up valley until a boulder thrown
from clifftop lands on Thornapple's head and nearly
kills him. A mass charge of Turvitians then comes down
valley and Party flee under cover of darkness
spells.
Around now it occurs to Party there's nobody left who
was given the original task for this adventure, so what
are they doing out here anyway; they decide to retreat
all the way to town and take it from there.
Meanwhile, A + N reach Tewys. Althaire warns all and
sundry about highwaymen, then joins a caravan set to
spring their trap.
|
| Y 8 |
Reach site of original Turvillage, a Giant
waits here. Annoyed Party make short work of it on their
way by. |
| Y 9 |
Althaire's caravan reaches ambush and easily
routs bandits. Althaire turns back for town. |
| Y 11 |
Althaire arrives at Tewys, spends next few
days seducing Nausicaa's trainer so as to persuade him
to get on with it. |
| Y 12 |
Rest of Party arrives at Tewys and dig in
for a treasury and training break after briefly arguing
with Althaire and Nausicaa. |
| Y 15 |
A box taken from some random foe is finally
opened; inside are gems and papers including a letter
to "Verbrugge" from "Krassos" seeking
to hire some Giants to terrorize Restenford, a small town
some days to the southwest. |
| Y 20 |
By now it is clear Party are not going to
continue against Giants, so Real retires. |

Bone Hill
(14-8-7;5), Yavia 26-Quelle 10 1084, July-September
2010
Background and summary: The Party look for the source
of some unusual undead near the town of Restenford, on the
northeast frontier of Lees.
Starting members (from A Turvitian
Tea Party): Dial(R-3), Thornapple(A-4), Donogb(F-4),
Merisa(MU-4), Grabil(NrC-3), Myridos(MU-3)
| Yavia 21
1084 |
Party recruit a couple of Tegrashi: Mediocrates
Incan(F-3) and Averjax Incan(F-3) join. |
| Y 24 |
Normar Swynt(NtC-3) joins as Party
need another healer. |
| Y 26 |
Party leave Tewys. |
| Y 30 |
Bandits ambush Party in forest but don't
last very long. |
| Y 31 |
A skeleton of a deer bounds out of forest, looks at
Party, and runs away. Grabil notices a significant ruin
on a hill near where deer was sighted.
Arrive Restenford in evening, start gathering information.
It soon becomes clear that letter-sending Krassos died
rather famously in a local battle over 175 years ago,
this causes concern as the letter was quite recent in
origin.
|
| Y 32 |
Attempt to meet with the local Baron, but he's a Very
Busy Man - this gets nowhere. Leave town.
Meet a Tegrashi en route, she seems both friendly and
useful so Party take her in: Locinda(F-3/T-3) joins.
A pack of tough skeletal wolves attack, Party take
care of these then sack out on the spot for what would
become a frequently-interrupted night's sleep
|
| Y 33 |
Up to ruins. A single vastly-outgunned Bugbear guards
an entrance through a collapsed wall but still kills
Locinda.
Party see movement across courtyard and try to charge,
things go very wrong:
o Arrows and a fireball
come from very well-warned occupants of upper story
of ruins, Party scatters;
o Donogb keeps charging,
finds another Bugbear, he and Dial take it on;
o Mediocrates tries
to escape through a collapsed wall, finds a skeleton,
gets bogged down;
o Thornapple sneaks
away and hides, eventually joins Dial and Donogb;
o Merisa stays put
and foolishly tries casting a spell, she gets filled
in with arrows then staggers behind wall with Mediocrates;
o Grabil, Myridos
and Averjax each head for building wall, see a door,
head for that, and eat a second fireball: Averjax
killed when he bleeds to death a few moments later,
and Myridos also down;
o Grabil tries to
flee but his god Clanggedon will have none of it, he
is turned around and forced to cast a spell - he gets
Myridos up and then collapses;
o Meanwhile Normar
has gone into a small nearby structure, in here is a
skeleton clutching a horn, so Normar takes the horn
and blasts it. Two completely berserk Vikings appear,
Normar killed before he knew what hit him;
o Vikings burst
out of structure and charge Myridos, they get shot and
Myridos flees so Vikings charge building instead; they
get inside and cause all kinds of headaches for the
occupants.
Remains of Party reunite outside walls, invisible Merisa
sneaks in to recover loot from Grabil and Averjax, realizes
Grabil is still alive and merely stunned so he is recovered
as well; all to town.
Somewhere along here, Myridos realizes most of his
gear including spellbook was destroyed in the fireballs.
|
| Y 34 |
Grabil finally snaps out of stunning in morning but
has lost a level - Clanggedon is very displeased.
Grabil doesn't help his own cause any when he immediately
starts complaining and swearing about his god - while
Clanggedon happens to be listening! A 'zot' comes from
above, and Grabil is burned to ash.
Grabil's holy symbol remains in place and is glowing;
Party eventually figure out it is trying to help, and
touching it to people (except Mediocrates, a racial
enemy of Dwarves) cures their ails. Holy symbol stops
glowing once it has touched each person once.
Myridos retires to reconstruct his stock of
spells. With this, Party realize they're short of people
- again.
|
| Y 35 |
Another small Party recently wandered into
town; the two Parties now meet and merge, thus Eonwe(N-3),
Matilda Ferilda(T-3), Amryn(NrC-3) and Amani(WrC-3) all
join. |
| Y 36 |
Leave town, Matilda later finds (the hard
way) and Party destroys lots of skeletal animals in wilderness
near ruins. |
| Y 37 |
Approach ruins from a different direction,
find lots of Bugbears inside including a couple of spellcasters;
Party deal with these then retreat back down hill. |
| Y 38 |
Try again; this time a fireball costs Eonwe some spells
from his book, then a wild magic surge caused by Dial
interrupting a second one sends people teleporting all
around the place; Thornapple keeps his bearings during
this and - with help - slays wizard, but just as wizard
dies he sends Donogb and Thornapple fleeing in panic.
Donogb runs off a cliff but survives (!) and both eventually
find their way back to Party.
Some exploration and looting, then sack out in ruins.
|
| Y 39 |
Explore ground and upper floors of complex with occasional
interruptions from the few remaining Bugbears.
Find Bugbear nursery; Eonwe sneaks in and kills one
of the cubs, the rest swarm him and he almost dies.
His cause isn't helped when Dial and Mediocrates (who
don't like Necromancers) walk away and leave him to
it; but the rest of the Party bail him out.
Find a wizard's laboratory after destroying several
doors to get there; Merisa and Eonwe quite impressed.
Also find a crude observatory.
One of the doors finally fights back: it takes Party
about a dozen very noisy tries to knock it down. Thus
victorious, Party retreat upstairs and sack out.
|
| Y 40 |
Continue exploring and bashing occasional undead until
Eonwe loses a level to a Wraith (so now N-2).
Retreat to observatory; Amani decides to start learning
Celtic so she can talk to half the Party.
|
| Quelle 1 |
Back in again. Find a statue of a Valkyrie; it tries
to chop Matilda's head off when she touches it but is
far kinder to Amani: she gets a minor Commune and
now knows much of what must be done to fix this place.
Meanwhile and nearby, Thornapple throws a light into
a dark area; he and Donogb immediately disappear.
Rest of Party carry on exploring. Eonwe, already deeply
incurable and invisible, gets run over by a Gelatinous
Cube on its way to the rest of the tasty morsels; he
barely survives.
Thornapple and Donogb appear on an endless open plain
and fight - and defeat - clones of themselves; they
are then able to rejoin Party.
Party sack out in statue cave.
|
| Q 2 |
Clerics - who slept closest to statue - are fully healed
by morning and get spells back much faster then usual.
Party enters a cold cave and is met by several waves
of skeletons and zombies - a few of whom cast spells!
Eonwe knocked senseless yet again, and rest of Party
up against it for a while before things come to order.
Into a much warmer cave, half of Party vanishes. Rest
continue into a fine bedroom and find a skeleton chained
to its wall and missing Party members doing out-of-character
things: illiterate Mediocrates is writing a journal,
just-as-illiterate Donogb is reading a book, and so
on.
Amani realizes skeleton on wall is intelligent and
can sort-of communicate; its name is Setari and its
unwilling presence here is causing many of the odd goings-on
in the neighbourhood e.g. animated skeletal animals
etc.
Blessed to do so yesterday by the statue, Amani casts
Remove Curse at the skeleton and frees it; she
gets a wish and uses it to gain herself a very
magical war hammer.
This done, Party go back to clear up all the areas
bypassed earlier; starting with a small cave that has
a stick or staff of some sort leaning against its back
wall. Thornapple goes in after it and gets covered in
gray slime; he soon decides to stay where he is. Donogb
goes in after him and grabs the staff, then inexplicably
puts it back and joins Thornapple in guarding it. After
several attempts, Party can't retrieve them, so they
make camp instead.
Amani names her new hammer "Rapture".
|
| Q 3 |
Finally rescue Donogb and Thornapple, then Matilda
goes in after staff and stays put; so finally Party
just wade in and kill the slime - but a clumsy killing
blow from Dial follows through into Amani: Amani
killed.
With this, Party decide instead to retreat to town,
and - other than one minor Bugbear interruption - they
make it.
|
| Q 4 |
Arrive Restenford. As Amani is an Elf, thus
currently an enemy in a local dispute, nobody here will
raise her. |
| Q 5 |
Thornapple and Eonwe (the Party's only non-Humans)
set off with Amani's corpse for rumoured Elven lands in
the east. |
| Q 8 |
Remaining Party finally get a meeting with
Restenford's Baron, achieving nothing. |
| Q 10 |
Thornapple and Eonwe talk their way through a rather
pathetic Human front line, then later find lots and
lots of Elves who quickly agree to help with Amani.
They cast some prep. spells first and get no useful
answers other than to realize something odd is afoot;
so they try a full Commune - this also behaves
rather oddly. (in fact, it brings Amani back to
life elsewhere, Corellon has plans
)
Amani fails raise here as she is in fact no
longer dead.
Meanwhile, back in Restenford Party return to their
inn to find Amani alive (!), hale and hearty, and with
a job to do. Her garb has changed considerably; she
is now clad entirely in very light gray, and Rapture
has changed colour to match.

Corellon's Crystal
(10-2-0;9), Coira 10-32 1084, September-November
2010
Background and summary: Amani's recent return from death
has forced her into a Corellon test: to recover a crystal
for Him. All she knows is she can start at the "tower
of the halo", whatever that is; so she gathers some vague
information, talks the Party into coming along, and off they
go. Before long the Party find themselves on a completely
different world; but Amani - whose quest this is - very quickly
and inconveniently dies, leaving her murderously-squabbling
ex-companions scrambling to find a way home. They slowly lose
a war of attrition with the place, and all perish.
Starting members (from Bone Hill):
Thornapple(A-4), Donogb(F-4), Merisa(MU-4), Mediocrates(F-3),
Eonwe(N-3), Matilda(T-3), Amryn(NrC-3), Amani(WrC-3)

1084 |
Party leave Tewys heading vaguely
southwest. |
| Coire 6 |
Arrive at Scaploe, primary
city in Lees. While here, Party collectively buys a flying
broom. |
| C 10 |
Leave Scaploe. |
| C 12 |
Arrive at a Bardic college
in southern Lees; lots of questions get little by way
of answers other than Party now know where "tower
of the halo" is - they think. |
| C 14 |
Now in wilderness, Party attacked
by 2 gigantic crows (8-foot wingspan) and a flock of smaller
ones; net result is Party name themselves the Black
Feathure Company after this battle. |
| C 17 |
Deep in wilderness, find a tower with a ring around
its top. Tower is surrounded by carefully-manicured
gardens and exceptional landscaping, and is staffed
by sharply-dressed and very courteous Grashi who gladly
give tours (Amani gets into detailed discussions about
the gardens, then later about the interior art) of the
non-private areas.
Party invited to stay the night, they do; and are fed
an excellent dinner.
The tower's master, a jovial chap named Akasta Nightstar,
arrives and spends evening chatting with Party; he seems
to know why Amani is here and what to do with her. Budgie
the Grashi butler is kept busy serving drinks.
|
| C 18 |
After a fine breakfast, Akasta takes Party upstairs
in his tower and teleports them to a cold rainswept
isolated rock.
A bridge leads to a glass tower nearby; Party go in
here and explore, interrupted occasionally by occupants
- including Khri-Halai corpses and undead, this raises
eyebrows.
A dead and partly-skinned Khri-Halai hides a horrific
undead creature - against long odds Eonwe gains control
of it but still cannot fully stop it from attacking;
Amani killed and Mediocrates almost. Amani's
skin then detaches from her corpse and rises as a second,
weaker version of the same creature; also destroyed.
Party retreat and rest for days.
|
| C 19 |
Corellon does not revive His
disciple during night, so Amani's corpse is put to sea
in morning. |
| C 21 |
Now recovered, Party resume exploring. Find and join
with some Grashi; they lead Party to half a dozen Khri-Halai
companions who are just as lost as Party.
Joint Party-Grashi-Khri expedition clears out a bunch
of undead until Grash leader Thraka loses a level to
a Wraith.
Thraka seems oddly willing to give up gained ground,
convinces Party and Khri to return to Grash base camp;
they do, despite some reservations, and all sack out.
Grash have a few very other-worldly-looking pets.
Party and Khri-Halai have a strange chat - the Party
mention Akrayna as their homeworld; Khri recognize it
- and claim to have built it, half a million years ago
give or take - but when they ask about something called
Skerrilane (world? deity? place? they don't say) Party
have no idea what this is, and Khri want to know what
happened to it.
Khri leader seems to think Party stand a better chance
of getting them all out of here than Grash; Party and
Khri quietly agree to work together thus Ell(F-4)
joins with several lesser companions of which only
Khaytou(F-2) becomes relevant.
Just as everyone starts to eat a meagre dinner, Grash
and pets attack without warning. A few Khri join in,
or seem to; Ell then leads the rest in a co-ordinated
charge (and those who joined attack switch sides, they
were faking it anyway) and despite near-deaths of Amryn
and Eonwe things soon come to order.
|
| C 22 |
More exploring, find a shaft going down; Matilda climbs
down, then Donogb, things don't go entirely as planned:
o Matilda attacked
by several mini-giants and chopped down, needs a potion
to survive;
o Donogb dominated
and psionically (!) controlled, turns and attacks Mediocrates
when he gets down shaft;
o Ell arrives, takes
on real enemies while Donogb chops up Mediocrates;
o Amryn manages
to paralyze Donogb, some Khri then restrain him while
she goes to cure fallen Mediocrates;
o Matilda climbs
back up shaft just before the whole combat gets webbed
up, web spoils Amryn's spell and surge drops Ell
by a level (to F-3);
o Matilda burns
webs away from above and crisps everyone: Mediocrates
killed, Eonwe flies out of shaft while everyone
else either climbs or falls down;
o Eonwe, annoyed
about being burnt, sends Matilda fleeing in terror then
goes back down to tell Party "she ran away"
(he was hoping she would run off a bridge and drown
but she instead finds a safe place to cower for a while,
then comes back);
o Things come to
order until Thornapple finds a Tegrashi behind a platform,
its hat is enchanted so Thornapple takes it, "Tegrashi"
turns into a tentacled horror and attacks, lots of people
fall over, Thornapple charmed and sits out rest of battle;
o Matilda returns
to find only Merisa and 3 Khri-Halai opposing the horror,
instead of attacking it she asks it where the Elf is,
it obligingly points out unconscious (and invisible)
Eonwe - and she slits his throat! Eonwe killed;
o Horror disappears,
Party quickly patch themselves up except one dead Khri
hench, horror returns and soon dies.
Arguments begin immediately - Ell saw Matilda kill
Eonwe and is not at all pleased - and continue through
day and evening while Party sack out and rest.
|
| C 23 |
Rest and argue through day,
interrupted in evening by an otherworldly beast crashing
through door; it soon dies. |
| C 24 |
Resume exploring, meet and
defeat an incredibly tough (107 h.p.) zombie in a flooded
room, then rest for days. |
| C 27 |
Return to flooded room, next area blocked by webs,
find a very-recently-dead Elf beyond (starved?); and
some loot nearby. Amryn casts Death Prayer on
Elf.
Try a new tower; entire Party fireballed on entry,
two Khri killed outright and a third falls off bridge
and drowns (Khaytou was only member of entire Party
to succeed on saving throw), and lots of magic lost.
Merisa tries a spell, passes out, falls off bridge and
drowns: Merisa killed and body lost. A flying
skull is source of trouble; Amryn charges it with Rapture
and destroys it; it tries to re-form, Matilda and others
throw pieces to the winds.
Retreat and rest. Thornapple and Amryn quickly become
feverish and ill.
|
| C 30 |
Mostly-recovered Party set
off again but defeating 3 zombies is all they can handle;
more rest, Amryn still sick. |
| C 31 |
Amryn back to functional, so more exploring and minor
battles including round 2 vs. re-formed flying skull.
This time Matilda keeps a piece of it and occasionally
smashes it later as it grows.
Donogb opens a door, behind it are a tough zombie and
two flying tentacled heads that damage Thornapple and
Amryn; these wounds can never be healed (i.e. permanent
loss of h.p.). Party sack out.
|
| C 32 |
Downstairs. First sign of trouble is when Donogb turns
against Party; a gorilla-like creature (carrying a brain
in a jar) soon joins in and cleans house. Khaytou
killed, meanwhile Amryn casts Hold Person
on Donogb. Thornapple finally does a trivial amount
of damage to gorilla; it retaliates with a 33-point
finisher: Thornapple killed. Gorilla - by now
known to be undead - then just rolls up the line: Ell,
Matilda, and Amryn all killed.
Donogb snaps out of paralysis later but is now completely
controlled by brain-in-jar and becomes one of its staff.
Corpses of rest of Party later animated by brain to
become much-less-intelligent staff.
Donogb eventually starves to death, but Corellon
later takes his corpse and puts it in the way of another
Party
Party ceases to exist.

|
DM's note: by sheer coincidence,
the end of this Party comes two years to the day - Coira
32 - after the formation of the first Decast Party.
