Each character appears alone in a strange forest.
Some characters find they have new possessions
(see below) and everyone
has a little piece of paper with a cryptic poem
on it.
As they explore, they slowly start bumping into
others; the first to meet are Tovan
and Appppil.
Leshendra
and Fjallarr
meet and Fjallarr flees on hearing of ghosts in
forest; he soon calms down and they link up.
Pearl
flies up on her Gryphon (and is seen in the
distance by Swiness,
also flying), finds a statue in forest, lands,
and disappears while investigating it.
Swiness and Darby
meet and amazingly don't kill each other; they
link up.
Calion
and Bree
distrustfully meet and link.
Seamus
and Perseus
meet and link, then quickly meet Fjallarr and
Leshendra.
Bree and Calion meet Tovan and Appppil; Bree
sets the forest on fire with a Flame Strike:
she's bored and wants to attract the attention
of anyone else around.
Swiness lets off a lightning bolt, main group
hears it from north and south at the same time.
Calion steals Leshendra's belt pouch and flees.
Bree and company start exploring (so they don't
get burnt by fire, for one thing); soon find statue,
and disappear.
Bree and Swiness both recognize statue; it is
of Kaylorelle,
a past companion of theirs, and the statue was
last seen in the Tel-Qa town square.
Calion explores all over, soon realizes this
forest is very small and "wraps around"
on all sides. He eventually finds Swiness and
Darby, and they link. It takes a while, but they
too find statue and disappear.
All appear together in a small room with carvings
on wall:
"Silly victims
Doubly cursed
Find the next
Then second first"
Party still puzzling over this when walls start
closing in and ceiling disappears; Darby gets
levitated up by Pearl only to get mugged by a
bunch of flying statues. Tovan gets lots of people
out of pit while Bree and Perseus do their best
to hold off statues; once everyone's up, statues
don't have a chance. Pit vanishes when walls meet.
Upper room has an enormous (65' diameter) clock
on wall, quickly running backwards.
A small exit leads to a cavern in which is a
stone(d) Dragon; it's happy to chat with Party,
and gives Perseus a key from around its neck when
he asks for it. But Leshendra insists on stealing
from its enormous mound of treasure, and Swiness
puts the lights out, so it attacks and - after
putting up some resistance - dies.
Its treasure proves of dubious use: a shield
that wraps itself around anything it is told to,
a hammer whose end flies off whenever it is swung
(but comes back later), an amulet that gets painfully
jealous whenever its carrier picks up a different
amulet, and so forth.
Bright light pours from a nearby room; first
Calion, then everyone, explores this. It's the
Dragon's grow-op, and is defended by a Shambling
Mound that also doesn't last long. Fjallarr has
a field day with all the magic herbs here.
A door leads to another small room where Monach(MU-7/I-7)
waits; he is cursed to forever cast lightning
bolts into a small grid, in order to power the
grow-op lights. Party try to talk him into leaving
but he won't, or can't, and so they leave him
be.
Back to clock room, try a huge door (Calion brings
it down on his own head) that leads to an equally
huge hall and room.
Room contains only a small bunny; but it is a
vorpal bunny, and almost kills Bree and Darby
before Calion grabs it and takes it back to Monach
so he can shoot it. Bunny has another key.
Party return to Dragon room and make beds out
of all the coins, and sack out.
